Fire broke out on the dust suction filter of a seeding station in an agricultural cooperative. A subcontractor was called to the facility after perforation of the vent’s protective metal sheet to install a new sheet equipped with a silicone sealant joint. To ensure greater efficiency, the firm fastened the sheet using brackets welded onto the outer vent frame. The heating of this sheet led to ignition of both the dust and filter sleeves. The blaze was quickly contained; 2 injuries were reported. No prevention plan or hot work permit had been initiated for these works.
