Chisola river was polluted by a toxic substance: oily brown stains on the surface, thousand of fishes killed, etc. Three accident scenarios were thought of to explain the events: industrial production waste, release of buried waste (300 broken barrels of toxic products upstream to the river) or deliberate dumping of waste into the river. The river water and the fishes were studied to identify the substances in question.
