In a manufacturing plant fertiliser, a leak of 20 t of ammonia is released. An operator observed a leak in a valve packing joint, he tightened it causing the valve insertion point to rupture. The fire brigade intervened using protective clothing. No people were injured during the accident.

After the accident, measures such as material test of valves and test of the safety standards were established.
