Fire of an undetermined origin broke out around 1 pm in an end waste storage centre. Notified by a third party, the facility operator arrived on-site at 1:30 and contacted fire-fighters, who showed up at 1:45 pm. Wastes were sprinkled and then covered with earth using the operator’s machinery. The blaze was controlled by 3 pm. Close monitoring continued until 7 the next morning, at which time the site reopened. Only equipment damage was reported. The burned waste area extended 500 m² and the sealant, damaged over a 120-m² surface, had to be repaired. An additional Prefectural decree ordered the creation of an adapted fire water basin.
