A tetrachloroethylene leak occurred in a self-service automatic laundry and lasted for several hours on a Sunday. The operator did not discover the accident until 9:00 am Monday and requested the intervention of fire-fighters (the chemical emergency unit was dispatched). Six residents of the same building needed to undergo medical tests and observation. The accident was malicious in nature (destruction of the machine window and other safety elements), given the lack of facility surveillance. The operator was requested to prevent this machine from being used on a self-service basis.
