Since its creation in 1999, the seminar on “Lessons Learnt from Industrial Accidents” is organized every two years by the Ministry in charge of Sustainable Development. This event is devoted to inspectors of the environment. It is organized with the support of the European Union Network for the Implementation and Enforcement of Environmental Law (IMPEL) and the control of its application. 20% of the participants are foreigners, representing more than 20 nationalities. The seminar serves multiple ambitions:
- Exchange of knowledge between inspectors of the European Community with the aim of a shared application of the legislation;
Lessons learnt from recent technological accidents;
Sharing and harmonization of risk prevention practices within the French inspection.
