Dry cleaning is a common activity within urban settings, yet one that is accompanied by a number of risks whose prevention requires the adoption of good practices. Beyond the chronic risks associated with chlorinated solvent emanations, this activity can also trigger other incidents or accidents: discharge of hazardous materials, fires, explosions, etc.

This synthesis presents accidents or incidents recorded in the ARIA base, along with their causes and consequences, which on occasion have caught professionals by surprise. In addition to an event-based analysis, recommendations will be proposed to improve and operate dry cleaning facilities, as well as build awareness among industry actors regarding potentially underestimated risks.
