The roof of an ice rink collapsed on members of the public. 15 people died (including 10 children) and 34 were injured, 13 of whom have been more seriously harmed. Around ten people were still reported missing within the first few hours. Clearing work was suspended for 7 hours due to the risk of complete collapse of the ice rink. This accident appears to have been caused by heavy snow fall, but a construction defect was also mentioned; according to the press, 180 t of snow were supported by the structure at the time of the disaster. No details were given on damages to the refrigeration units. An enquiry had to determine the exact causes and circumstances of the accident.
