Fire broke out around 10:30 am in an armament manufacturing building. The blaze quickly spread throughout the building, composed of a 300 sq.m. prefabricated structure housing the site’s infirmary on the ground floor (which contained a stock of O2 bottles), and trade union offices on the first floor. Controlling the outbreak required the intervention of some 40 fire-fighters during a 3-hour battle. Once the alarm had been sounded, all site buildings were evacuated. The burned building was completely destroyed, resulting in 3 slight injuries. Facility operations were not interrupted. A short-circuit might have caused the fire according to initial investigation findings.
