A fire in a flat-pack furniture factory destroyed 2 warehouses 15 m apart storing 1,595 t of wood furniture elements (38,000 packages). The stacking heights in the 5,123 m² and 2,912 m² buildings are 5 and 4 m respectively. The accident occurred soon after 1:00 am when there was no activity on the site. The fire spread to a steel construction company where it damaged one building and destroyed one lorry, two utility vehicles and a light vehicle. Alerted by a resident, around sixty fire-fighters intervened using water from the River SEMOUSE. The fire was extinguished at around 5 pm.

According to the police, the fire was caused by arson (2 separate outbreaks of fire). The administration noted that it had not been notified of the accident and that the facility in question had not been authorised under the legislation on classified facilities.
