A tetrachloroethylene leak occurred on the pipes supplying a machine in a dry cleaning shop. Fire-fighters recovered the toxic product, using cleaning rags and absorbents, and placed all cleaning materials into barrels while awaiting the arrival of a specialised collection firm. The facility operator and an employee had to be made redundant.
