At 10 pm., 10 t of LPG gas escaped after the opening of a safety valve in a refinery. Due to favourable wind directions, the gas cloud did not ignite. The operator took necessary measures to stop the leak and abate the gas cloud. The police stopped nearby roads. The LPG was transferred to another tank and the area declared safe at 1 am.Frozen piping might be the cause of the defect on the safety valve.

Another incident occurred on the same site a few hours before (ARIA 23825), but without links in causality.
