Following the malfunction of a joint on a hot still, a tetrachloroethylene leak occurred at a dry cleaners. Fire-fighters used absorbent products to clean the tetrachloroethylene that had spread into the open. An incompatible material would have caused the leak in the first place. Some 100 residential neighbours had to be evacuated.
