During a thunderstorm, lightning struck an oil tanker that had unloaded 40% of its cargo. The vessel exploded and the resulting debris pierced an ethanol tank on board that caught fire. 1,550 m³ of crude oil was spilt in the navigation canal that ignited. The damage is evaluated at 97 million dollars.
