Résumé modifié

Fire broke out inside the warehouse (2,400 m²) of a workshop specialised in the dry cleaning and restoration of rugs. Despite the rapid intervention of fire-fighters, whose station was located just 200 m away, a building housing 10 historic tapestries and many other items of cultural heritage was destroyed. Rescue teams were able to protect the dry cleaning machines, two tanks containing 6 tonnes of tetrachloroethylene and the boilers placed in an adjacent building. Redundancies were feared as a result of the accident. Total property damage was estimated at 40 million francs.
